Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Switch & Save collects when you use this site, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language on purpose.

What the plan finder does with your answers

The plan finder runs in your browser, on your device. The current bill, line count, data use and preferences you enter are used on the spot to calculate your matched plans. The finder has no account system and no sign-up, and those entries are not sent to or stored on a server by the finder. Close the tab and they're gone.

Email Mailing List

If you join the Switch & Save email list, this is exactly what we collect and how it is used:

  • What we collect: your email address only, plus a record of your consent — the date and time you ticked the consent box and subscribed. We do not ask for your name or anything else to join the list.
  • Why we collect it: to send you information about recent deals and new plans and products — new plans, promotions, phone releases, deals, and accessories. We will not use the list for unrelated marketing.
  • Legal basis — your consent: we only add your address if you tick the consent checkbox on the signup form (it starts unticked) and press Subscribe. Without that explicit consent, we do not send you marketing email.
  • Single opt-in — subscribed immediately: this list uses single opt-in. When you tick the consent box and press Subscribe, you are subscribed immediately and added to the list with the status Subscribed — no confirmation email is sent, and no confirmation step is required to join.
  • Who processes it: your email address is stored, and our emails are sent, by Mailchimp — an email marketing service provided by Intuit Inc. — our third-party email service provider, acting on our behalf as our data processor. Mailchimp may use your address only to run this mailing list for us.
  • We never sell your address: we do not sell, rent, or trade email addresses, to anyone.
  • Affiliate links in our emails: emails we send may contain affiliate links to plans, products, and services. If you click an affiliate link and buy or sign up, Switch & Save may receive compensation or a commission from the carrier or retailer — at no extra cost to you. The commission is paid by them and is never added to your price. This is the same arrangement described under “Advertising and affiliate links” above.
  • Unsubscribing: you can unsubscribe automatically at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send — Mailchimp removes your address automatically, and you do not need to email us to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe at any time from this site using the Unsubscribe link in the footer of every page, even if you don't have one of our emails in front of you. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active mailing list; if applicable, it may be kept only on a suppression list, so we can make sure you are not added again by mistake. hello@switchandsavewireless.com is our general contact address for questions — it is not needed to unsubscribe.
  • CAN-SPAM commitments: every marketing email we send will be clearly identified as being from Switch & Save, will include a working unsubscribe link, and we will honor opt-out requests promptly. Every email will also include a valid postal mailing address, provided via the footer that Mailchimp requires in every campaign.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this site and the providers that host and measure it may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page you arrived from, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to operate the site, keep it secure, understand which guides and tools are useful, and fix problems. The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes this information on our behalf to serve pages, protect the site, and provide Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Cookies and analytics

This site may use cookies and similar technologies for analytics — to count visits, see which pages get read, and understand how readers move through the finder. Visit counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies and does not collect personal information such as your name or email address. Analytics data is used in aggregate, not to build profiles of individual readers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the finder and guides work without them. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, we treat that as a preference to limit tracking where our providers support it.

Advertising and affiliate links

Switch & Save may earn an affiliate commission when you buy through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. When you click a carrier, retailer or product link, the destination site may set its own cookies — including cookies that attribute a purchase to the link you clicked — under that site's own privacy policy, not ours. Accessory links lead to Amazon search results, plan links lead to the carriers' own websites, and VPN and password-manager links lead to those providers' websites; what they collect after you arrive is governed by their policies, which we encourage you to read.

Third-party links

This site links out to carriers, retailers and other third parties throughout the finder, guides and comparison tables. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. A link is a reference, not an endorsement of the destination's data practices.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Information described in this policy is shared only in limited ways: with the service providers who host the site and provide analytics, who may use it only to provide those services; when required by law, court order or a valid legal request; or when necessary to protect the security of the site and its readers. If the site is ever transferred to a new operator, information would move with it, and this policy would be updated to say so.

Data retention and security

Technical logs are kept only as long as they're needed to run and improve the site. We use reasonable measures to protect the information the site handles, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices

  • Cookies: block or clear them in your browser at any time — nothing on this site requires them.
  • Outbound links: you can always reach a carrier by typing its address yourself instead of using our links; the price you pay is the same.
  • Privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example, California and other states with privacy laws), you may have rights to know what personal information a business holds about you, to ask for its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We don't sell personal information, but you can contact us to ask what, if anything, we hold that relates to you, and to request its deletion.

Children's privacy

This site is written for adults shopping for phone plans. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be reflected in the disclosures at the top and bottom of the site as well, so the short version and this full version never disagree.
